About Rachel Synden, Resident in Counseling

Regain your authentic voice.

I want you to feel safe enough to process whatever you’re carrying, empowered by genuine support and fully validated as I listen to your story. Your sense of safety and nurture in our work together is my number one priority.

I am deeply committed to inclusivity, ensuring every client – regardless of identity, background, or experience – feels valued and respected from the very first moment.

I am especially passionate about helping clients rediscover and strengthen their authentic voice. We work together to build self-esteem, establish healthy boundaries, and reclaim control over your life.

Clients often tell me that what stands out most is my nonjudgmental presence. I bring my full attention to every session and strive to create an atmosphere of safety and comfort right away – many share that their first session felt far more approachable than they expected.

I also draw on persistence and creativity. If progress feels slow, I’m willing to explore new approaches until something clicks for you.

Here’s information about my training and specialties.

I have 1 year of experience as a behavioral health technician providing ABA therapy to children and teens with autism, 1 year of experience working at an inpatient facility with teens, and 1½ years of experience as a resident/intern in counseling.

My current subspecialties are anxiety, ASD/ADHD, processing grief, and LGBTQIA+ individuals.

Master’s in Education (M.Ed.) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The College of William and Mary – May 2025.

When not in the office…

I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, watching movies, going to the gym, and doing yoga.
